Echo

The project reinterprets the myth of Echo and Narcissus. It aims at presenting it from the nymph's point of view and focuses on her emotional state. It shows her sadness, confusion, and loneliness. On a symbolic level, it can be read in a broader context and can be seen as an attempt to represent the disintegration of identity of people living in relationships with people suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. The visual inspiration for the project came from paintings by John William Waterhouse, John Everett Millais, Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, photographs by Gregory Crewdson and Izima Kaoru and films by Terrence Malick.
